Academic Tips on How to Write a One Page Paper in APA Format
A lot of colleges require the use of the American Psychological Association format for college papers. The format is very specific and if not written correctly a student can lose valuable points just for missing key formatting details. Your college should be able to provide you with a book outlining the exact way to write every type of paper in the APA format.
If you are like me, you don’t really have time to read through an entire book of formatting requirements especially with the ample amount of reading you are responsible for reading for your course work. So to save you some time, I have compiled the basic requirements that you can use for the majority of your papers. This guide will save you from loosing valuable points due to formatting issues.
A one page paper in APA formatting will consist of three pages. The first page of the paper will be the title page. The second page will be your actual essay and your third page will be the reference page. There are a few specific specifications that need to be followed in order to follow APA formatting.
- The font requirement is: Times New Roman
- The font size requirement is: 12 point
- The paper requires a header on the top of every page that is the same as the title
- The header should also include a page number in the upper right hand corner
- The reference page should be the last page of the paper and should have the word “References” at the top center
- The paper should be double spaced
- The following diagrams will show you how to properly format your paper in accordance with APA guidelines.
Date of Paper
The title page should state the title of your paper, your name, the name of the university, the name of the course, the name of your professor, and the date of the paper. Your sources need to be cited properly in order to receive all of the points you need for your paper. This is a very specific method. You may need to refer to the APA formatting book in order to determine how to cite individual sources. Some of the library sources will include an option to receive the citation for each of their sources in APA format. You can copy and paste them in alphabetical order into your paper.
Hope this helps you write your papers in APA format.
